The Ashanti is a 12-inch premium synthetic coily wig by Coils to Locs, designed for women with hair types 3C–4C. Made from soft Japanese synthetic fiber, it replicates the look of natural Black hair with defined coils, curl, and frizz — designed specifically for highly textured hair types 3C–4C. Suitable for medical hair loss (alopecia, chemotherapy) and fashion wear. Eligible for insurance reimbursement as a cranial prosthesis (code A9282) when prescribed for medical hair loss. Care: Wash with synthetic wig shampoo in cold water only. Air dry on wig stand. Do not rub or pull.

Use a wig shampoo and conditioner specifically made for synthetic coily curly hair wigs to help maintain the quality of your wig, or a mild shampoo and conditioner diluted with water.
Gently place your wig in cold water only and add the synthetic wig shampoo. Let the wig sit for a minute and then gently squeeze the shampoo through the wig. Do not rub or pull the hair. Remove the wig and rinse thoroughly with cold water only.
Next, gently smooth synthetic wig conditioner through your wig without rubbing or pulling the hairs. Avoid applying the conditioner directly onto the wig cap. Rinse thoroughly with cold water.
Gently wrap the wig in a microfiber towel to absorb excess water. Place your wig on a wig stand so that it can thoroughly dry and maintain its shape.
Unlike your real hair, synthetic hair wigs should not be washed daily or even weekly unless needed. Wash every two to three weeks.
A very light application of oil or gel can be used if preferred.
What type of hair is used to make the wig?
The type of hair that is commonly used to make wigs is Japanese fiber. This synthetic hair is popular for its high quality, durability, and versatility. Japanese fiber is made of heat-resistant fibers that are designed to mimic the look and feel of human hair.
Can a Synthetic Wig look Natural?
Yes when high quality wig fibers are used. We use the highest quality synthetic fibers on the market because the fibers look and feel similar to humanhair. Lesser quality synthetic wigs tend to look ""shiny"" and the hair fibers feel like plastic.
How do I measure my head to select the right wig size?
To select the right wig size, measuring your head is crucial. Measure around the circumference of your head, over the top of your head, and from the front of your hairline to the back of your neck. You can then refer to the wig sizing chart on our site to match your measurements with the appropriate wig size.
How do you pick a good synthetic wig?
The look and feel of the wig are important. It is easy to see even in photos if the wig hairs look ""fake"". A synthetic wig that has an unnaturally high level of shine, particularly if it is a coily/curly wig and has a plastic feel is an indication of poor quality. Another indicator in the coily/curly wig space a lack of natural frizz. The fibers used in Coils to Locs wigs are similar to human hair and our ""natural"" un-straightened hair has some natural frizz. "
