Corporate & Pharmaceutical Sponsorship
Opportunities With Coils to Locs

Millions of Black and Brown women navigate medical hair loss without access to wigs that reflect their natural texture. Coils to Locs is closing that gap, and we are looking for forward-thinking corporate and pharma partners to help us do it at scale.

The Problem

Medical hair loss disproportionately affects Black and Brown women, yet the wigs available in hospital and clinical settings almost universally reflect straight hair textures. When a patient cannot find a wig that looks like her, she loses more than her hair: she loses the chance to use her insurance benefit and feel like herself during treatment.

50%
of Black women in the U.S. experience medical hair loss from chemotherapy, alopecia areata, lupus, and other conditions
47%
of cancer center wig boutiques offer neither Type IV curls nor afro wigs, per a 2024 study in JCO Oncology Practice
7M+
Americans living with alopecia areata alone, the second most common form of hair loss in the U.S.

Who We Are

Coils to Locs is a Boston-based social enterprise founded by CEO Dianne M. Austin, a breast cancer survivor, and COO Pamela Shaddock, who lives with alopecia. We have done extensive market research and have not been able to identify another company distributing highly textured synthetic wigs (3C-4C curl patterns) directly through hospitals and medical facilities at scale. We currently partner with 27+ healthcare institutions nationwide, including Dana Farber Cancer Institute and Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center.

How We Can Partner

A partnership with Coils to Locs is a direct investment in health equity for Black and Brown communities. We offer multiple ways to engage so you can choose the approach that fits your company's goals and CSR priorities.

01Conference and Event Sponsorship

Sponsor our presence at conferences like the NAAF June 2026 Annual Conference, where Coils to Locs cofounders Dianne M. Austin and Pamela Shaddock will be featured speakers. Your brand is visible to exactly the audiences that matter most for health equity and consumer trust.

02Patient Workshops and Webinars

We ran workshops and webinars for women experiencing hair loss until funding ran out. Sponsorship would bring them back, branded with your company's commitment to patient wellbeing and health equity for underrepresented communities.

03Wig Donation Program

For some women, the barrier is not access but cost: even when a textured wig is available nearby, it remains out of reach. Your sponsorship funds wigs that are given as gifts, at no cost, directly to patients in need through our hospital and community health organization partners. The wig is hers to keep, fully paid for by your company's contribution, with impact reporting on how many women were served and where.

04Hospital and Clinic Wig Access Grants

This sponsorship is about building access, not giving wigs away. Many hospital boutiques and clinical settings want to carry textured wigs but do not have the budget to purchase inventory. Your funding goes directly to CTL to stock those shelves. Once the wigs are in place, patients can purchase them through normal clinical channels, using health insurance, flexible spending accounts, or out-of-pocket payments. The goal is to make sure the option exists so no patient has to leave the building empty-handed because her texture was not represented.

05Hair Loss Awareness Reports

Sponsor an annual published report on hair loss disparities in medical settings, distributed to hospital systems, clinicians, and media. Your company becomes a visible contributor to the national conversation on health equity with something tangible to show for it.

06Patient Ambassador Program

Fund a stipend-based initiative where women with hair loss from underrepresented communities are trained and supported to share their stories publicly. Ambassadors build community and tell your company's commitment story in their own voices.

07Digital Resource Hub

Sponsor a free online resource library for patients navigating medical hair loss, covering wig care, provider information, insurance guidance, and community support. Your support is acknowledged throughout, reaching patients at the moment they need help most.

Why This Partnership Matters for Your Company

Health equity is no longer a niche concern. It is a business imperative. Consumers, investors, and regulators are paying close attention to how companies show up for underserved communities.
